Thermoplastic Processing

Alper Aksit (M.Sc.) started working as a scientific member at the Polymer Engineering department in March 2017. His work is mainly focused on the processing and compatibilization of non-miscible polymer blends.

During 2006 and 2009, Mr. Alper Aksit successfully completed his apprenticeship as a chemical technician in cooperation with Sika Deutschland GmbH. Thereafter, he started his bachelor studies “Chemical Engineering / Color and Coatings”. After passing stations at Covestro AG and Kettering University (USA), he successfully finished his studies with his thesis work at BASF SE. Here, he developed new coating formulations based on innovative, OH-functional acrylate dispersions.

Afterwards, Mr. Aksit started the master program “Polymer Science” and the elite study program “Macromolecular Science” at the University of Bayreuth. During his cooperative master thesis he worked on the surface modification and characterization of hybrid metal particles at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and their structure-property-relationship in high-temperature epoxy systems.
